If it can be done in Excel, it can be automated in Excel. Turn your data into decisions with dynamic dashboards. Solve problems and automate tasks with the data tool you already know.
This is a short video using Excell's Dynamic Array and Power Query tools to display only the information you need from long boring Excel lists.
I used the same long boring excel list to provide management with 2 very different answers...
Power Query - What jobs have T numbers?
Checks the source data every minute and extracts only the rows that have T numbers and only the columns that I wasn't to see and orders them in the order that I want, allowing easy identification of jobs with T numbers. Previously this would have involved manually filtering the long boring excel list every time you wanted to know a T number.
Dynamic Arrays - Repeat Jobs, what did I order previously?
When a manager wanted to find out the cost of supplies for a previous similar job this required a lot of effort. It meant opening a ring binder folder, finding the ref number and associated filing cabinet, locating the filing cabinet and pulling the job folder, and reading it, this took about 15 mins.
With 1 formula the same information could be returned instantly to the manager.
